Arrowhead House East Intensive Residential Treatment Service Positions:

Mental Health Rehab Worker (complete online application above)

Working 3pm-11:15pm with days to be determined, working with adults with serious and persistent mental illness in a rehabilitative treatment setting. Will include part of weekends or some weekends. 

POSITION SUMMARY:

A Mental Health Rehabilitation Worker (MHRW) is a member of the IRTS treatment team. The MHRW provides support within intensive residential treatment services to residents with a serious mental illness in a comprehensive 24-hour service. The MHRW works under the direction and supervision of a Mental Health Practitioner, Treatment Director, Registered Nurse and Program Director. The MHRW will receive clinical supervision from a Mental Health Professional on a weekly basis delivered through a required clinical meeting and individually as scheduled.

The MHRW will:
• maintain confidentiality

• greet visitors promptly and courteously
• balance and adapt to the demands of change in the work environment
• assist in crisis situations as appropriate, following emergency policies and procedures
• follow through on tasks in a timely manner
• demonstrates attention to detail and getting clarification when needed

Professional Responsibilities

• Complete 1:1 encounter when working with residents on goals and objectives identified in individual treatment plan.
• Document significant observations of residents after and/or throughout shift pertaining to:
o Medication compliance
o Group participation/engagement
o Affect
o Completion of independent living skills
o Attendance at outside meetings and/or appointments
o Hygiene, including sleep-hygiene
o Behaviors
o Nutrition and eating habits
• Provide medication administration and other tasks, including UA's as delegated by Registered Nurse
• Conduct and document hourly safety checks of each resident 
• Assist residents with activities of daily living and skills training individually and through groups
• Assist with meal preparation, clean-up, proper food storage, and sanitation. Encourage residents to assist as well. 
• Assist residents with making appointments and attend as needed under the direction of the RN
• Facilitate 6:00pm group according to schedule
• Update white board in living room daily 
• For new residents, complete Orientation and Immediate Needs Assessment; coordinate immediate needs of resident with afternoon staff at transfer

Administrative Responsibilities

• Attend and participate in required weekly clinical meeting
• Complete all assigned trainings by scheduled due date
• Conduct fire drills according to schedule
• Keep the grounds of the property free of clutter and shovel/salt as necessary (weekends)
• Answer phones until 3:00pm
• Keep office, med cart and individual mailboxes organized and tidy
• Be present at 3:00pm and 11:00pm transfers

 Adult Foster Care Positions:

  • Part Time Day (3-4 days a week 8am-2pm)

  • 12pm-4pm shift (2 days a week)

‚Äč*All Positions are front half/back half week rotations and switch quarterly. 

Front Half: Sun, Mon, Tuesday

Back Half: Thurs, Fri, Sat 

Direct Support Staff assist clients with increasing independence, achieving goals, coping with Mental Health symptoms and community integration. Some additional tasks include; administering medications, preparing meals, accompanying to appointments, encouraging recreational activities, and household cleaning.

A qualified applicant must possess a strong work ethic, compassion for serving others and place emphasis on quality care. Staff are responsible for the overall health and safety of four adult individuals. Applicants must have valid drivers license and pass a background study.
